Quran Class Policies and Procedures

Parents should closely review the following policies and guidelines.

  • Students are required to arrive to class on time. First session is 5:15-6:30pm. Second session is 6:15-7:30pm.
  • Students should be dropped off and picked up on time. If a child arrives to class 15 minutes late, he/she will be considered late for the day.
  • Students are encouraged to be respectful of the Masjid and are required to take shoes off & place shoes on shelves at the designated area at the entrance.
  • Students are not allowed in the classroom without an Ustadh present. Students are instructed to wait in the 24/7 prayer area, hallway, or outside with a parent until the Ustadh arrives.
  • Students are required to come to class with Wudhu.
  • Students are expected to be free of the need to use the bathroom. Bathroom breaks will be given as needed, no earlier than 15 minutes after the student arrives. Parents will be notified if the student shows a consistent need to use the restroom within 15 min of arrival.
  • Students are required to join the salaah congregation when salaah time occurs during class time.
  • Students are required to enter the class by greeting the Ustadh and fellow students with ‘Assalamu alaikum’. Please teach and encourage your child this practice.
Students are expected to have their new lesson revised at home prior to the next scheduled class.
  • Students are required to bring their Qaaidah/Mushaf to every class. If a student does not bring their required book, the Ustadh cannot guarantee any significant time with the student on that day. Parents will be notified at every occurrence.
  • Students are not allowed to eat in class, unless there is a medical necessity (please see the Ustadh to discuss any such matter).
  • Water breaks will be allowed as needed. Students can use the water fountain by the restrooms. No water bottles are allowed in the classroom.
  • Students are required to wear masjid-appropriate attire. Wearing inappropriate attire may lead to dismissal from class or no lesson for that day. The policy for attire is as follows –
    • Clothing must be clean.
    • Socks must be clean and not have a bad odor.
    • Clothing must be loose fitting.
    • NO SHORTS permitted under any circumstance.

  • Students must not leave the masjid/class area without permission.
  • Swearing, bad language, cursing and yelling will not be tolerated. Parents will be notified of any such action.
  • Playing or unnecessary talking during class is not permitted.
  • No fighting, which includes play fighting, should take place on the masjid premises. Any such occurrence may lead to expulsion from the class.
  • Students are expected to respect the Ustadh and fellow classmates.

  • Students will be recognized and rewarded for perfect attendance at the end of every month.
  • Weekly progress reports and feedback will be provided to parents expressing any concerns or updates on each child’s development.
  • Barring exceptional circumstances, parents must vacate the class area for the duration of the class. Parents are welcome to reside in other areas of the masjid while class is in session.
